Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Sourdough Bros ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Sourdough Bros mobile application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use the app:

How We Use Your Information

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your profile, posts, and recipes are visible to other users of the app. Your email address is never shown to other users.

We use Firebase (Google) as our backend infrastructure for authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Affiliate Links and Product Recommendations

The app's "Our Favorites" section and user Gear lists may contain links to third-party products. When you tap a product link, the app may automatically append affiliate tracking query parameters to the outbound URL before opening the merchant's website in your browser. This mechanism allows the merchant to attribute any resulting purchase to Sourdough Bros.

We currently participate in the following affiliate programs:

What data is involved. The affiliate parameter is transmitted to the merchant's website as part of the URL. The app itself does not collect, store, or receive any data about your activity on a merchant's website, including whether a purchase was made, what you browsed, or any payment information. The merchant's own privacy policy governs all data collected on the merchant's site.

What we do not do. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting, or any cross-site tracking technology in connection with affiliate links. We do not share your account information — including your email address, display name, or user identifier — with any affiliate merchant. We do not receive or store information about purchases you complete.

Your control. You are never required to tap a product link. Affiliate parameters do not affect the product page content, availability, or pricing presented to you. Before you interact with product recommendations for the first time, the app presents an in-app disclosure that you must explicitly acknowledge. This disclosure explains the affiliate relationship in plain language and is consistent with our obligations under applicable advertising disclosure laws, including the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). The affiliate parameter injection is governed further by our Terms of Service.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information and content are removed from our systems. Lineage connection records are anonymized rather than deleted to preserve the integrity of the family tree for other users.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from the app: go to Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

This app is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, delete your account in-app or contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
